My goal
I strive to empower women to be engaged, active, participants in their general and reproductive health, and treatment. My approach is to ensure my patients feel relaxed, informed, and understood throughout their care with me.
My approach
I am an experienced and skilled gynaecologist, treating a variety of conditions. The ability to combine my knowledge and expertise in endocrinology (hormones) as well as surgical techniques, means that I am able to offer you a variety of treatments as a leader in this field. I am a huge advocate of preventative medicine and optimising your natural health, so all treatments will include a discussion about lifestyle changes, holistic care, and non-medical approaches. The key is to provide you with the most expertise and practical information, to empower you to take an active part in your own decision making and treatment.I have had extra Fellowship training in surgical procedures in particular related to endometriosis, fibroids, polyps, hysteroscopy and PCOS.
Consultation
At your first appointment we have detailed discussion of your medical history, including menstrual history, sexual activity, contraception, and any relevant health concerns followed by a physical examination.Your initial appointment with me is an opportunity to discuss preventive healthcare measures, such as vaccinations, screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and cervical cancer screenings. Contraceptive options are also explored based on the your preferences and reproductive goals. I understand that examinations can be daunting or stressful for some. I will always obtain your consent before any examinations and treat you with respect and dignity and compassion. Together, we will take the examination and treatment at your own pace.
When laparoscopic procedures may be an option.
Gynaecologic laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique employed for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes within the field of gynaecology. This procedure utilizes a laparoscope, a slender tube equipped with a light and camera, which is inserted through small incisions in the abdominal wall.
Common indications for gynaecologic laparoscopy include the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as:
- Pelvic pain
- Infertility, fibroids
- Ovarian cysts & tumors
- Endometriosis
- Ectopic (tubal) pregnancies
- Pelvic inflammatory disease
Surgeons can perform a range of procedures during laparoscopy, including cyst removal, tubal ligation, and hysterectomy. The benefits of gynaecologic laparoscopy include reduced postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times. Patients often experience less scarring and a lower risk of infection compared to traditional open surgeries. Gynaecologic laparoscopy has revolutionized women's healthcare, providing a less invasive option for both diagnostic exploration and surgical interventions in the realm of gynaecology.
